Hichame has over 20 years experience scaling and leading global teams. He is currently the CEO of Envato, which he recently lead through to its’ acquisition by Shutterstock Inc. Prior to joining Envato, Hichame was CEO of HotelsCombined and led the Sydney-founded business from start-up to scale-up as it grew internationally before being acquired by Booking.com.

 

A 3rd culture kid, Hichame was born in France, lived his formative years in Syria, and completed his post-graduate education at the University of London. These experiences instilled in him a deep respect for the diversity of culture and thought, and he thrives on leading global teams through the complexities of an ever-evolving digital and AI world.

 

Based in Sydney, in his spare time he can be found reading about the fields of Open Social Innovation, mentoring entrepreneurs, decompressing to the soothing sounds of NY hardcore punk and negotiating with his teenage son.
