Maria Halasz

Maria Halasz (B.Sc., MBA, GAICD) is the CEO of Stride Equity, a digital investment platform for wholesale and retail investors. Stride Equity is focused on closing the funding gap for emerging businesses while providing wholesale and retail investors access to pre-vetted investment offers.

Originally from Hungary, Maria emigrated to Perth, Western Australia in her early 20s. Commencing a degree in medicine, she eventually transferred and was awarded a Bachelor of Science (Microbiology) from the University of Western Australia before gaining her MBA (Finance).

She began her executive career as an analyst, which lead to work in VC funding technology-based businesses and, later, senior positions in corporate finance, specialising in life sciences.

After joining ASX Listed Anagenics (ASX:AN1) in 2007 as CEO and Managing Director, she has successfully spearheaded the restructuring of the business including the acquisition of the midkine and FGF5 intellectual property portfolios, which formed the foundation of and, ultimately, the global success of the évolis® consumer health brand.

Maria is a Non-Executive Director of the Garvan Research Foundation and NSW Councillor of the Australian Industry Group (AiG).
